The story is about 22 year-old Lily who is returning home after breaking up with her abusive boyfriend. She is not looking for any kind of relationship, but can’t deny her feelings for her new neighbor, Jay.

Jay Lincoln is a large scary man that intimates everyone who comes in contact with him, including Lily.

They both know that they shouldn’t pursue a relationship but they can’t stop themselves. They are both feeling things they have never felt before and neither one wants to deny it.

Trouble comes as Jay keeps his life and his body full of scars a secret from Lily. Stubborn as she is keeps pushing and perusing until she sees who he really is.

She knows she should be afraid of him but only feels strong and safe. How can they let go of the one weakness that makes life with living?

Lily isn’t like the other heroines that we usually read in Romance novel. She is stubborn, strong-willed and is it not a weak female character that needs the man to save her.

Jay is very rough around the edges and doesn’t let anyone in. He was reluctant to let Lily in but once he did he couldn’t let her go.

The relationship between Jay and Lily was passionate, caring, and realistic. Yes they were attracted to one another and that led them to hanging out, but it took time for them to trust one another and fall in love. A lot of times in Romance novels they just jump right in to the relationship so they can hurry up with all the stages (meet, fall in love, break up, make up). This one covered all those stages but at a slow and steady pace.

The thrilling/suspenseful aspect of the book made the romance part all that more entertaining. You get to learn about Jay’s past as Lily does and make your own assumptions about him. He’s got a dark history and has many skills that cause you to wonder why and where it all came from.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable read. A perfect book to read while on vacation and easy enough so it can be done in one sitting. While there is a part 2 there isn’t a giant cliffhanger ending in this one (which is always a plus for a series when the 2nd book is not out yet).

Recommendations: Hitman series by Jessica Claire; The Fighting series by JB Salsbury

Hi would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using? I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m having a hard time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

I used wordpress. it offers better free designs then some of the other blogging websites plus its free and easier to navigate. it’s easy to add widgets (or sections) of a blog that is easy to monitor and visually appeasing on the blog

  5. Hmm it seems like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any tips and hints for inexperienced blog writers? I’d certainly appreciate it.

Sure. The best blog to write about is something that you really enjoy writing about. Also, if you are going to do it, i found it helpful to write about something that is going to develop and change for a long time. in other words, a broad subject. Like it would best to write about say movies in general, instead of just one movie like Hunger Games. Yes, it’s popular now, but in about five years, there won’t be much to write about. (An exception to that rule could be Star Wars because that’s just something that will never die).

Another thing with the topic, if you are going to do something that’s popular, like for example a sports team, try and think of ways to make it original and different then other sources out there. You want to stand out and attract people to your blog so that it can grow and develop.

Also, it’s best to have ideas set up that you can post on a regular basis. For example, I do recaps of TV shows and also recap of the box office. This way, I will always write a few articles a week even if I am slow posting other things.

I hope this helps you and good luck with your blog!

      Thanks for the comment!

Writing about books, movies and TV so that’s what i write about. I’ve noticed on other websites or blogs that when you do that, you can write better and you can feel the passion in the writing. Those articles tend to be more enjoyable to read. Hope this helps!
