In last week’s episode, a football star from Georgia gets more then he’s bargained for when he’s being recruited by Hudson University.
In this week’s episode, titled “Gambler’s Falacy” Rollins hits rock bottom as she goes too far after she finds herself in the wrong situation. The squad tries to rally behind her, but she’s at the point of no return.
Rollins finds herself in a very bad situation as her gambling habit is starting to take over her again. She runs into a former victim and the victim rats her out to her boss, Declan (guest star Donal Logue, TV’s “Sons of Anarachy”) who thinks that she is trying to shut down his operation.
Unable to pay her large debt, Declan and his assistant Sondra (Guest starring Sherri Saum, TV’s “The Fosters”) make her help them out. They ask her to get a juror’s information so they can ‘talk’ to her. When she refuses, she offers to have sex with him instead. He agrees but records it as blackmail.
Sondra connects with Rollins after she learned what Declan did and they make a deal to work with one another and no longer with Declan. At least she thinks so. It turns out that Sondra is more devious then Declan is and as the show comes to an end, we see that Declan is an undercover cop who used Rollins to take down Sondra and her boyfriend.
Declan offers her a third chance. He tells her that she might not be so lucky next time and should be clean. Unlike the times before, Rollins really did fall down hard this time and may have gotten the message to stay clean.
Fin and Amaro know that something is off with Rollins and they try to help her, but they might go too far. Rollins gets angry with Fin offering her money and Amaro tracks her down (by illegal means). Benson tells Amaro to stop what he’s doing and questions his reasoning and that maybe he has feelings for Rollins. She tells him that Maria’s called her, worried about him, which obviously upsets Amaro.
With the events of what happened this week, Rollins has a lot of making up to do with Benson, Amaro, and Fin. None of them can trust her now and will be second guessing everything she does.
In next week’s episode, Alec Baldwin guest stars as a reporter who complicates a rape that looks like a hate crime.
