In the 6th book in the series (3rd with Callie and Kayden) we meet up with the couple as they adjust to life back at school and trying to move on from the events from their past that tried to destroy them.

The story’s message is portrayed over and over again in this book as Callie and Kayden try and move on from their past and be happy. It’s easier said and done but they know that with each other, they can accomplish anything. Kayden has a harder time accepting this because it’s still relevant in his life. He remembers it in his brothers and when he plays football.

There really isn’t much conflict in this story, but after reading their story up until now, you won’t care. Kayden and Callie both deserve to find their happy ever after and they get it in this book. The couple really comes into their own as a couple and as individuals.

resolution of callie and kayden

Perhaps the main theme is overcome our fears of the past and both Kayden and Callie have to confront the demons of their past and stand up against them. For Kayden, this proves harder than anything because despite everything, he wants that family life and he can’t get that with his parents.

The book slowly starts to become that sappy romance novel where they keep saying sweet and beautiful words to one another, but it’s never over the top. Yeah it seems like everything is just falling into place and some may not like that, but for the fans that have read the entire series, the couple deserves to have things going their way.

If you haven’t picked up the series yet, then you need to because it’s a beautiful story of have two people with monsters in their past come together by chance (or coincidence) and find the strength in each other and learn to love and accept that they deserve to be happy.
