#5 – The Last Five Years
Starring: Jeremy Jordan, Anna Kendrick, Meg Hudson
Musicals seem to be making a come back and that could be because of Pitch Perfect (which ironically stars Anna Kendrick who stars in this movie). The movie is based on the Broadway play (which also seems to be a new trend) and it should be a interesting movie to see for fans of the play or musicals in general, but if not, then it might not be the movie for you.
#4 – Kingsman: The Secret Service
Starring: Colin Firth, Michael Caine, Taron Egerton
This movie is very reminiscent of James Bond school. It looks like these guys are just training to be the next spy’s. It’s got all the action that you can expect from a secret agent movie and the fact that it involves Brits you know that they do spy-work the right way.
#3 – Focus
Starring: Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Rodrigo Santoro
Will Smith returns to the big screen in a movie that may not be the best movie of the year, but it should still be worth the watch. He plays a con artist who takes a woman under his wing but what’s gonna happen when he falls for her. Smith in this movie should be enough to attract a fan base and should be enough to watch this movie.
#2 – The Spongebob Movie
Starring: Antonio Banderas, Seth Green, Clancy Brown
This is one of the top movies for kids and families to see this year. The Spongebob show ended a year or two ago but there is still a story to be told. The loveable sponge comes to the big screen for the second time but this time they come to the real world as they try and take down a pirate set on changing the world.
#1- Fifty Shades of Grey
Starring: Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson,
This is arguably one of the most anticipated movies of the year. It’s an adaptation of the New York Times best selling book by EL James. While the world involves something that hasn’t been tackled before on the big screen (BDSM) its going to be the go-to movie to see for Valentine’s Day. Jamie Dornan has some big shoes to fill (if you know what I mean) and if all goes we should see a new trend hit the media.
What movie are you most excited to see this month?
