“Get Hard” is no match for “Home” at the box office

homeThere were two movies that came out this weekend and they were able to grab the top spots at the box office, beating out some other big name movies.

Home finds its place at home at the top of the box office bringing in an estimated $54 million during its opening weekend. This is pretty much the only family friendly move in the theaters and it helped Home find its way at the top of the box office knocking Insurgent from the top spot.

The other new movie to come out this weekend is Get Hard. The movie challenged Home for the top spot, but was unable to top it with its estimated $34.6 million in it’s opening weekend. This is the second highest opening for a Kevin Hart led film, right behind his 2014 Ride Along.

Insurgent falls down the charts as it comes in the number three spot with an estimated $22 million. The movie is not doing as well as expected but should cross over the $100-million mark in the next week or two. It may beat out the first movie for overall box office, but it’s not going to be the success that they expected.
