In last week’s episode, we get 2-hour special where Mark and his group attack fireman and police officers while Ryan continues his search for Mark.
In this week’s episode, titled “Reunion”, Ryan begins his search for Strauss with the help of Joe but he might be out of his league as Strauss has a new pupil Theo (Michael Ealy, Think Like a Man).
An Unlikely Pairing
Ryan calls on help from the last person he wants to, Joe, and they team up to try and find Strauss. But of course he won’t do it for free. He will help for the exchange of Ryan’s company. Looks like Joe misses Ryan. We certainly missed their dynamic back-and-forth.
Hot on the trail of Strauss, he finds probably one of many of the burial grounds and a potential student in the city’s sheriff’s son, Justin. Just kidding. He’s got too many screws lose to be one of the students. Instead it is none other then the cop’s uncle, Duncan. He is the one responsible for the burial ground that Ryan and Mike found.
The Star Pupil
We all thought that Joe was Strauss’s star pupil, but how wrong we really are. Michael Ealy (Think Like a Man) guest star as Theo and quickly shows that as good as Joe is, Theo is ten times better. He is the one that was able to hack into FBI database and plant the emails that got Strauss off. His intelligence sets him apart from the other students and the fact that he doesn’t seem to have the ego they have either.
We see that Strauss met Theo thirteen years earlier after Theo accidentally gets stabbed during one of his shooting rampages. Strauss saves his life and takes him under his wing.
It all backfires on Strauss as Theo kills Strauss for blackmailing him to help. Theo becomes the teacher to Daisy telling her, “A shark is supposed to stay beneath the water”.
Trouble in Paradise
Tensions are rising in the relationships on the show. Ryan is still mad at Mike for abandoning Max and he’s having problems with his relationship with Rita because he can’t open up.
While Max is healing, Tom and her are struggling to get back to steady ground. They both have their secrets. Max is feeling guilty about sleeping with Mike and Tom wants to tell her he knows but considering she’s hurt, it would make him a major jerk. So, what to do?
Mike tries to get Max’s forgiveness but what he did can’t be forgiven. She knows that Mike will always want Mark’s death.
In the next episode, Ryan and Mike look for Theo and are racing against the clock because he is planning his own killing spree.
