Rumors circulating that Asa Butterfield is the new Spider-man

It looks Marvel may have found itself a new Spider-man in Asa Butterfield. At least that’s what the rumors are saying.

If cast, Butterfield will join the ranks of what’s quickly becoming a long list of actors portraying the masked Spidey. The first actor, Tobey Maguire, lasted for three films while Andrew Garfield only did two. Both series came to an abrupt end as their final movie both had the problem of too many villains for one movie.

Marvel wanted to cast a much younger actor to play the role of Peter Parker, with the hope that they will last longer than a few movies. Both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were pushing 30 when they were cast. Both actors stated how taxing it is on the body and perhaps having a younger actor play the role will get his body used to it.

The new Spidey will make his first appearance in Captain America Civil War which is expected to start shooting soon. So it makes sense that they would be casting the role of Spider-man sooner rather than later.

Butterfield is known for his role in Ender’s Game and Hugo. He recently starred in A Brilliant Young Mind and is currently filming Peregrine’s Home for Peculiars which is set to come out in 2016.

Stay tuned for news as this story develops.

I don’t know…I really enjoyed Andrew Garfield in the role and am saddened it won’t carry over.
