The Shadowhunters TV series adds to more to the cast, according to Variety. Matthew Daddario has been cast as Alec Lightwood and Isaiah Mustafa has been cast as Luke.

Daddario is known for his role in When the Game Stands Tall and is set to star in Cabin Fever, coming out later this year. Isaiah Mustafa is known for the Old Spice commercials and was recently seen on a guest spot on ABC Family’s Baby Daddy.

This news comes just days after the show cast the leading lady in Kat Macnamara. It looks like they are going to be finishing up casting soon which means we should get a release date soon as well.

Alec Lightwood is Jace’s (played by Dominic Sherwood) parabati and Isabelle’s (Emeraude Toubia) brother. He and Clary (Macnamara) butt heads because he doesn’t think she’s good enough for Jace. It’s not until he begins dating Magnus Bane (still has not been cast) that he calms down.

Luke is Clary’s adoptive father (unofficially) who has been in love with her mother (still to be cast) forever. He hides the fact that he is a werewolf and that he used to be best friends with her father (still to be cast)

The Shadowhunters is based on the NY Times Best Selling series by Cassandra Clare, The Mortal Instruments. It follows Clary as she embarks on a journey to take down the evil forces of the Underworld with her best friend Simon, and the other Shadowhunters: Jace, Isabelle, and Alec.

What do you think of the casting for Luke and Alec?
