With the filming already started for the second season of the Netflix hit series, Daredevil, we knew that new cast members would be added to the fold and it looks like one of the biggest names of the series is going to be appearing in the second season. Elektra has been cast and will certainly add a whole new level for the show as she plays Matt’s love interest.
Marvel and Netflix have found the love interst and bad-ass extraordinaire Elektra in Elodie Yung. Yung is best known for her roles in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and G.I. Joe Retaliation and is set to star in the TV mini-series Of Kings and Prophets. Yung will bring a whole new level to the role, who was last played by Jennifer Garner. Garner had found success as Elektra with her movie fairing better with the fans then the movie Daredevil did.
This annoucement comes on the heels of Marvel announcing that the season will also introduce The Punisher who will be played by The Walking Dead alum Jon Bernthal
The first show of the Marvel and Netflix team brought us the much needed reboot of the blind hero Daredevil. The first season got an 98% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and renewed the Marvel fans faith in the superhero. We got to see Matt Murdock start to figure out what it means to be the vigilante while also seeing the beginning of Kingpin.
There is no official release date yet for the second season, but it is expected to come out sometime in 2016. Most likely around the same time that season one did in April.
What do you think of Yung as Elektra?
