Top 5 movies to see in September

#5 – Hotel Transylvania 2

Starring: Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Selena Gomez, Nick Offerman

Out: September 25th

The first movie did exceedingly well so naturally there would be a sequel for it. It’s the only family friendly movie coming out this month but that’s ok because it’s that type of movie that everyone can actually enjoy. It comes out right before October hits, so it’s a nice segway to get us ready for Halloween next month.

#4 Everest

Starring: Elizabeth Debicki, Keira Knightly, Jason Clarke

Out: September 18th

This movie is based on a true story on some explorers who hiked up Everest and were able to reach the top but had problems on the way down. You know with a movie like this (which will be perfect to see in IMAX) that it’s going to be the movie you are going to want to be eating popcorn because the anticipation and the drama of whether or not they survive is going to drive you crazy.

#3 – Sicario

Starring: Emily Blunt, Jon Bernthal, Josh Brolin, Benicio Del Toro

Out: September 18th

This movie is already getting some Oscar buzz as the gritty story portrays the struggles of keeping a war from erupting on the boarder of Mexico and US. The casting looks amazing and we will get to see just how much the government has to do to try and keep the drugs from entering the US and just how dangerous it is to do that. Maybe this will shed some light on the issue.

#2 – Black Mass

Starring: Johnny Depp, Benedict Cumberbatch, Dakota Johnson, Joel Edgerton

Out: September 18th

This is about the infamous Whitey Bulger, a mobster who basically controlled all of Boston before he was arrested. Add to the fact that character actor Johnny Depp is going to portray him, and you know you have a winner. Anyone who was alive during that time heard or knew that Bulger was not one to be messed with. He ruled with an iron fist and had no problem taking out anyone who was against him.

#1 – The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials

Starring: Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Nathalie Emmanuel

Out: September 18th

The series is slowly but surely getting higher and higher expectations. The first movie exceeded expectations and this movie is looking to go further than the first movie did. The stakes are higher in this movie as the characters have to work through the second phase of the test while also trying to discover why in fact they have to go through the test in the first place. Expect a lot of twists and turns that will leave you gasping in surprise by the end of the movie.
