The first ‘The Divergent Series: Allegiant’ trailer has been released

For the past week or so, Summit has been teasing fans that the first official look for the upcoming movie The Divergent Series: Allegiant will be released. It has been released today through the movie’s YouTube page. There has been a lot of emphasis on what it’s going to be like ‘over the wall’ and this will likely continue as the movie gets closer.

In the trailer, Tris and Four learn about what is beyond the wall and why they were being watched. They quickly see that there is more to the story then what they thought. Four is embracing the ways and Tris is not as she learns that her world may be destroyed. Never stopping until everyone is safe, she returns back home in hopes to save those she love. If you are a fan of the book, then you know how this plays out in the end. like other series, it’s going to be some time until we get to the finale.

The trailer does show that the movie is going to continue down the path that the first two led down and use a lot of special effects. It worked well in the first one but not the second one. Insurgent only was able to make $130 million at the box office which was $20 million less then the first one. Fans are hoping the movie returns back to what made the books so successful instead of straying and making it too futuristic looking.

A few months ago, Summit announced the official names for the final two movies in an attempt to get away from the ‘part 1’ and ‘part 2’ that the other movies did. They are now going to be known as The Divergent Series: Allegiant and The Divergent Series: Ascendant. The trailer is likely going to be shown on the big screen before Mockingjay pt 2 next week. The Divergent series: Allegiant is expected to come out in March with the final movie coming out in 2017.
