In the last episode, Theo gives Barbara the green light to kill Gordon but will he be able to fight back? Thompkins worried that Gordon is getting himself in to deep especially now that Barbara is showing her hand. Her plan to kill Gordon doesn’t work and she is now clinging to her life (that is unless Theo wants to finish her off for not killing Gordon). Nygma runs into an unlikely person in the forest, Penguin, and Penguin asks for his help. In this week’s episode, ‘A Bitter Pill to Swallow’, Gordon continues to try and take down Theo while Nygma and Penguin form an unlikely bond.

With Theo now in jail, his sister, Tabitha works on trying to get him free. She thinks hiring a hitman to kill Gordon will do the trick. After two unsuccessful rounds, the leader of the hitman group hires an old hitman who is a cannibal with the hopes that he can take down Gordon. Come to find out she didn’t go after Gordon for Theo but for Barbara.

Thompkins tries talking to Gordon about his little ‘problem’ with the dark side, but like any addict, he doesn’t think he has a problem. It’s obvious that there is going to be some tension between them and may come back to hurt them the further that he goes down this hole. His obsession with taking down Theo is creating problems with him Barnes and it almost leads to Barnes losing his life.

Speaking of darkness, Bruce is becoming more and more obsessed with finding his parents’ killers and the fact that he thinks Theo knows, he thinks he can get the information out of Silver. Alfred, rightfully so, doesn’t trust her and tries to keep Bruce away.

Nygma and Penguin form a kinship of sorts. Nygma asks Penguin about his new obsession with murdering people and use him as mentor. But Penguin is not wanting anything to do with it. After some time together, Nygma makes Penguin sees that now that he has lost it all, he is invincible.

In the next episode, Theo gets released from prison and begins his final plan to take down Bruce and Gordon.
