In this week’s episode titled, ‘A Night Owl’, find the unit looking for a drug dealer who may or may not have involved a professor. On the surface he really sounds and looks like he’s innocent. Considering that he has no marks on his record, it makes it harder to believe that he was really involved. Or maybe he’s just so good he never got caught? During the case, the unit begin to follow the drugs and try and find out how they ended up in his car.
Burgess gets called up to help with the investigation by Lindsey’s request. She partners with her and this doesn’t make things awkward between her and Ruzek. Lindsey tries to get her to see that she is better than their breakup and that how she reacts will make or break her career with the police. Ruzek of course doesn’t like that she just ignores him because he is prideful man who doesn’t like anybody telling him no. Will her ability to prove that she doesn’t need him get him to shape up or will he just wait aimlessly behind waiting for her to come back to him.
Roman is wanting to be a teacher for up and coming cops but he needs to get Platt’s seal of approval first. She goes on a ride along with him (and yes it is just as funny as the movie) as Roman milks it for all it’s worth. But the end result was worth it. He proved to Platt that he was able to handle being a teacher to new cops. Halstead and Mouse decide to jump into an investment with a marijuana grower now that it’s legal in Chicago, despite Halstead’s reservations.
