In the second book of the series, Blake and Erica continue to try and define their relationship while try and deal with the outside forces that try and break them apart.
This book makes up for a lot of things that the first book was lacking. At least for my perspective. We get to dive deeper into Blake’s and Erica’s characters and see who they really are. What is important is that we get to see why they work so well with one another which gets you rooting for them to beat all the odds. Erica learns that lesson that we all have to learn at some point in our lives and that not everyone in our lives can be trusted. Business is a cut-throat world and she finds herself at the losing end of this one.
Erica continues to get closer to Daniel in this book but that squirrely feeling that you had for him in this book proves to be true. He shows his true colors and shows that it may have been best for him to not have been in her life. Daniel’s backstabbing nature makes us want to agree with Blake and that Erica needs to trust him and his opinions of people because he seems to be always right.
The ending was a bit of a letdown. There was this big buildup of something big to happen between Daniel and Erica and when nothing happens, it’s like ‘well that sucks’. I do hope that the series gets a little better, because it slowly started to dwindle down as the story went on and just got to be the same thing over and over again.
