In the last episode, we get the fall finale as Gordon teams up with Penguin as they try and take down Theo before he kills Bruce. While Bruce is able to get the man that he is looking for, it comes at a cost. Thompkins tells him to choose between being the ‘hero’ for Gotham or her and their unborn child. In this week’s episode, ‘Mr. Freeze’, the show returns from the holiday hiatus and welcomes a new villain into the mix. Mr. Freeze makes his first appearance on the show as he looks to chill out Gotham.
There is a new villain that makes an appearance in Gotham. Mr. Freeze is going about the city just freezing people in their tracks as he works his own plan. Gordon takes the case with Bullock as they try and find him and figure out why and how he’s doing it. If you’ve followed the Batman story, than you know that Mr. Freeze is trying to save her wife, though, in very unconventional ways. He is using innocent victims and testing out different methods but coming to the same result. A human Campbell soup. My favorite new villain to show up on the show is BD Wong (Law and Order SVU and Jurassic World) as Hugo Strange. Hugo Strange is a very interesting character and shows that psychology is not always a good thing to be good at.
It’s not long into the show that Penguin gets arrested and admits to killing Galavant. He will end up in jail, but obviously it won’t be forever. It’s not surprising that he’s happy that he killed Galavant and that he covered for Gordon. Gordon gave him what he wanted. Galavant on a silver platter. But when Penguin gets to Arkham, he finds that he is out of his element and will have to work in different ways to survive. Especially since the people that he’s in there with are crazier than he is.
