In the first book of the spin-off series, we follow Anna (the young girl that Jaxson saved) as she has a second chance at her first love, that is if Logan cannot let the guilt of choices haunt him.
There is nothing that KC Lynn could write that I wouldn’t read. I absolutely love this series and every one in it. Logan is very much like the four men that we met in the original series and Anna is very much the perfect woman for someone who is as stubborn as Logan is.
The love story between Logan and Anna is completely swoon worthy. Perhaps even more romantic then the original stories. They had that first love thing going on and the fact that he helped her come to terms with what happened just made him that much more swoon worthy. Though we don’t dive too much into what happened with Anna in her point of view, Lynn does touch upon, especially at the beginning of the book.
At times, it felt like it mirrored the first series a lot. Some of the things that Logan said or did was very much the way that the first series men would do/say, especially Jaxson. I would have liked to have dove deeper into the dynamic of Logan’s jealousy of Jaxson and Anna’s relationship. I think it would have given us a deeper look into his mind. It’s human nature to be jealous of someone in this situation and I would have loved to have seen a big scene between the two of them.
A great new start to what will be a great new series. KC Lynn writes stubborn, alpha-male heroes. If this is not something that you like, then you may not like this book. Logan is very much the type of man that will dominate you but you would love that he does.
