Strap yourself in for another story that will make you fall more in love with KC Lynn’s writing. If you are stalling and not reading any of her books. You need to start with the Men of Honor series, before working on her other books. They all seem to be connected in ways that we could only imagine and it’s fun to figure it out.

True to form of her other books, Ryder is that bossy softy that will do anything to protect Emily. The fact that he is FBI only makes him that much hotter. Let’s face it, anyone in uniform gains points just for being in the uniform. The fact that he is so protective of Emily despite how ugly her parents are to her just makes you melt into a puddle.

What kept me from making me rate it 5 stars is that reunion part for Ryder and Emily. Considering how they broke up, I would have expected Emily to be more upset. Instead, she just took him in with open arms as if he didn’t just leave her the way he did. I would have thought that she would have made him work harder for it, especially considering how she doesn’t let her parents just walk all over her.

But what made up for that was the ending when it dawned on me that Nick Stone is the love interest to our very own Katelyn who is in the Men of Honor series. While this book isn’t directly linked to it, it kind of is considering it has characters in the story. There is a hint to that story and I for one am intrigued to see what happened between Nick and Katelyn. You know it’s going to be explosive.

If you are into a love story with a bossy loving man who falls for a woman who doesn’t know her worth. Than this is your story. It has a HEA so you don’t have to worry about a cliffhanger.

Rating: B
