Attention kids of the 90’s, 2000s, and today! Your dream of being a Pokemon master in real life can now come true. You don’t need to shell out $40+ now in order to play Pokemon on 3DS, GameBoy, or whatever other handheld device you have. Now, as long as you have a smartphone and internet, you will be able to walk around and try and catch Pokemon by walking around.
How does this work you ask? Well, to put it simply, your Pokedex, aka your phone, will vibrate or alert you anytime that you are near a Pokemon. This could be as you are walking out to your car, at work, at the grocery store, literally anywhere you are. All you have to do is whip out your phone and catch the Pokemon.
Now if that wasn’t enough to get you excited there is more. You also get to battle. That’s right BATTLE. The best part of Pokemon is these battles and you get to do it against Gym Leaders so that you can collect badges. But it doesn’t allow you to battle other trainers, ie your friends. At least not yet.
You start off the game by designing your character. The graphics are not next generation quality like Xbox One and Playstation 4, but they are more modernized than the other Pokemon games. You get to pick what gender you want, plus the color of their clothes. This is a nice little feature because you can make the trainer look semi like you.
The game launched yesterday and has been blowing up the internet, social media, and the servers. The news was first announced in September of 2015. Fans have been anxiously waiting for its arrival date, praying and hoping that it would be everything that we expected.
The app is available for Google Play and at the iTunes store. For more information on the app, you can go here.
