“Stay is a power, heart-wrenching story that will consume you heart and soul, leaving you utterly breathless days after the last page is read.” – Kelly Elliott New York Times bestselling author
From NYT & USA Today Bestselling Author A.L. Jackson comes the next sexy, gripping Bleeding Stars Stand-Alone Novel…
I’m Ash Evans. The life of the party. Hot. Rich. Charismatic. A tattooed rock star with the world at my feet. I burn through women faster than the strike of a match.
I’ve embraced my lifestyle and live it to the fullest. Until the day my lifestyle caught up to me.
Willow Langston found me at my lowest. Literally. Facedown in a puddle of my own blood.
I owe her my life and I have three months to repay that debt. What I never should have done was touch her. Kiss her. Take her to my bed.
Love wasn’t supposed to be a part of the equation. I gave up that nasty complication a long damned time ago. Now I want her more than my next breath. But she doesn’t know what I know.
Do I leave to protect her? Or can I face my demons and ask her to Stay?
It said that woman all want the chance to tame the bad boy. The player. The one that can’t be a one-lady kind of man. Well, that is likely true. In this case, that is not what attracts Willow to Ash. But the fact that there is just ‘something’ that draws her in.
We will come back to that later.
Ash is not someone who likes to live by the rules, and that is apparent right at the beginning of the book as he finds himself at the end of a big brawl. It takes the luck of someone kind to find him and save him. While he thinks that he’s just being nice to her and ‘pretending’ to help her ward off her old boyfriend but we all know. She is not like any of the other girls in his life. She is sweet, kind, hard working, and a little broken (though not to be mistaken as weak). It’s that ‘something’ that he can’t get past.
See we got back to that something.
The language in which AL Jackson writes is what I love most about her books. Especially in these books, she likes to write quick, short paragraphs that match the tempo of the scene. It not only brings you into the scene, but you start to feel the same way that the character is going through (in this case it’s mostly Ash). Whether it be panicky or worried or scared. It’s a clever way of drawing you in and I love it.
To the story of Ash and Willow there are really no words to describe how beautiful and tragic their love story is. It would give Romeo and Juliet a run for its money. Their connection runs beyond what’s on the surface and while they know that Ash may not be the best person for Willow, she knows that there is a good man underneath (despite what he thinks).
I can’t wait to see where this series is going to take us. There is nothing that AL Jackson could write that I wouldn’t read. Especially when it involves the boys of Sunder.
