The bowtie is BACK!
Dre was just a beautiful stranger when Preppy saved her the first time around. Now, he has to save her again, but she’s no longer some stranger, she’s family, and he has no idea who or what he’s up against.
What he does know is that putting his family back together is the only acceptable outcome.
Preppy’s to-do list?
SAVE FAMILY. SEEK REVENGE.
He’s alive…and he’s out for BLOOD.
Preppy Part Three is the third book and conclusion of Preppy and Dre’s story. It’s also the 7th book in the King Series, which should be read in order starting with KING & TYRANT.
Review
I did not read this story. I fell into a world in the dirty South where guns, drugs, and killing are a norm. I got to hang out with some of the scariest yet bad-ass mofo that live there including the master himself, Preppy. I felt like I was part of the gang just shooting the breeze. It was so much fun hanging out with them that I didn’t even mind that nothing really happens until the last 80% of the book.
I was so anxious to read this story not because I was nervous about what would happen but I was anxious about the fact that this IS the end. There is no more King and his fuck the world attitude, or Bear in his shirtless glory, or Preppy with his dark sarcasm. I really do hope that we get some more stories for these characters but if we don’t it was one fucking amazing ride and I can’t wait to see where the evil ginger takes us next.
For the story itself, it is everything you want it to be and more. You see how far King, Preppy, and Bear have come to get to where they are today. It wasn’t an easy road but with their brotherhood they learn what real family is, what real loyalty is, and what real love is. These three characters prove that blood doesn’t make you family but something more. Something deeper.
Preppy has literally been to Hell and back and is trying to live life to the fullest with his new found family with Dre and their son Bo. Dre has been down a long road herself and her history with Preppy is not the best, but they are at a place where they would die for one another and the games they played in the first book are no longer played. They are devoted to their life and are willing to do anything they can to protect it.
Bo is by far my favorite character in the whole series (no surprise that he comes from Preppy’s relationship). He is a boy of little words but the few scenes that he is in with Preppy will melt you heart and have you a little afraid of him. He is like Preppy in so many ways that you wonder if it really IS his kid.
It is sad that this is the final book of the King series but thankfully Frazier said this may not be the last time we see them. Let’s cross our fingers that we get more because it’s hard to imagine a life without these three men in it.
