Review: ‘Moonlight Sins’ by Jennifer Armentrout is a dramatic ride that you won’t be able to predict

Format: e-book, paperback
Format read: e-book
Series: book 1 of Moonlight seduction series
Rating: Language, sexual content, dark themes
Genre: New Adult
Goodreads page:

The first story begins the epic tales of the de Vincent family. They are Southern royalty and they certainly live that way. Julia is a girl just trying to make her way in the world and it only gets complicated when Lucian sets his sights on her, making her job harder then it already is.

The story is slow to get interesting but once it does, you won’t be able to put it down. A good 30% of the book, the book explains about the family and all the webs that have been weaved and this is important to follow, because the conclusion will be very confusing if you don’t.

I really wanted to like the characters and at times I do, but I found that I enjoyed the other characters better. I am excited to be ready Gabe’s story because i like him as a character. Lucian just felt too broody for me and Julia was a bit of a pushover especially when it came to Lucian. At times I enjoyed her, like when she stuck up for herself. But overall just felt meh.

I had hoped for more of the romance but I was pleased with a bit of the soap opera type of story we got instead. Armentrout focused more on the characters and the story then the love scenes between Lucian and Julia.

Rating: B+
