‘Chicago PD’ 4×12 recap – The unit look for the murder of a women in the park

chicago-pd-4_12_1

In the last episode, a rapist is found killed and the city is less then helpful when it comes to finding the person responsible. There are people out there trying to help clean up the streets and it looks like they are doing it in the wrong way. This week we have two episodes, in ‘Sanctuary’, there is a church in Chicago protecting murder suspects and it’s up to the CPD to shut it down.

As the seasons go on there is a certain roll call with each show or at least most of the shows. A car chase, some turmoil between the group, a bad decision, and a foot chase. All of which take place in this show.

The foot chase is the first up as the police go after two young black men that were fingered at being at the park around the victim. They are unable to get to them before they find sanctuary (there it is. The name of the show) in a church. The priest, Father Bill stands up for the kids and tells the police that they won’t let them try and arrest the young black kids without proof.

chicago-pd-4_12_2

This sparks a major feud in the city as each side tries to figure out the truth. While the city riots at the church, the unit try and get to the bottom of the truth without the help of the two witnesses in the church.

Rixton is up next with the bad decision. He gets information from one of his informants, an informant that Voight wanted to know if he was in town. Here comes the bad decision. Rixton decides to lie about which comes back to bite him in the butt as Voight confronts his lie and states that he only has one more strike.

Burgess and Olinsky continue to butt heads in this show. He is trying to show her the ropes but it always comes off as a little jerky. It’s not until the end of the show that he finally shows respect for her. Saving his life would certainly do that.

‘Chicago PD’ 4×11 recap – The unit look into a man who may have been assaulted by a former victim of his

chicago-pd-4_11_1

In the last two episodes before the fall finale, Olinsky had the unpleasant joy of deciding where his loyalties lie as his friend is accused of raping a young girl. In the second episode, the unit try and find a person who is picking off the police. This week we have two episodes, in ‘Don’t Bury the Case’, the unit try and help clear Severide’s name after being involved in a hit and run. For this week, titled ‘You Wish’, the unit investigate a potential hate crime when a rapist is killed but problems arise when his wounds don’t match up to the cause of death.

The unit gets called to a scene where a man’s favorite appendage has been cut off. The victim’s name is Sanford Greg who is a sex offender who just got out of jail with a laundry list of crimes and restraining orders. They look at the people that he’s had problems with (which is only like twenty or thirty people or so).

With witnesses help, they are able to find a woman, named Erin, who threw a bloody knife into the bushes and a big red flag of guilt, she ran. Olinksky opens up and lets Burgess take the interview with Voight. Turns out that Sanford was attempting to rape her and she sliced him to get free. When they get the cause of death, choking, they know that Erin didn’t do it.

chicago-pd-4_11_2

Looking into an incident, they find that there is a group called ‘Special Police’ that covers an area that has all the rights of cops but none of the rules. They are all about helping until they learn it’s a murder. The ME shows them that this new victim is not the only one which points all the arrows at this special police and James Mooney.

My love for Halstead only grows in this whole thing with Jimmy. While Lindsey doesn’t want to cause more problems with Jimmy (wanting to bask in the fact that she has a father now) but Halstead is always watching her back and making sure no one else hurts her. That spells love like no other. But it backfires on him when he discovers that Jimmy is not her real dad, basically destroying her happy little bubble and what little relationship Lindsey had with Bunny. The silver lining (and it has me hopeful) is that apparently Bunny and Voight had a one-night stand. Could this mean that Voight is really Lindsey’s father?

In the next episode, there is a church in Chicago protecting murder suspects and it’s up to the CPD to shut it down.

‘Chicago PD’ 4×9 and 4×10 recap – The unit try and find a way to save one of their own

chicago-pd-4_9_1

In the last two episodes before the fall finale, Olinsky had the unpleasant joy of deciding where his loyalties lie as his friend is accused of raping a young girl. In the second episode, the unit try and find a person who is picking off the police. This week we have two episodes, in ‘Don’t Bury the Case’, the unit try and help clear Severide’s name after being involved in a hit and run. In ,

Severide finds himself in deep problems as he is at the base of a vehicular homicide when a young woman and her child are hurt with the child dying. The evidence piles up and doesn’t seem like he is going to get out of it. They have his car, the fact that he has no alibi, and that he there are witnesses that have him drunk before the accident.

Time to warn up that call to the lawyer (ie Chicago Law).

CHICAGO P.D. --

The plot thickens when Burgess and Atwater (The A-team back at it again) find a tracking device in his car. Burgess thinks that someone planted the GPS to try and frame him or something deeper. Problem will be to try and catch the guys who planted the tracker. When they get the man who sells the car, it’s time to get to the man responsible for trying to steal Seviride’s car.

The best part of the show is when Voight goes dirty cop and helps Mike get the money that is owed to him and the man that is responsible for the accident.

Meanwhile, Burgess is working her first case, too bad it’s against someone from the fire department. She is trying a little too hard and it causes Olinsky to want a new partner. He doesn’t want to train a new ‘rookie’ in his eyes. But Voight has faith in her and thinks that she will make it or break it on her own but she’s earned the right to try. Platt warns Burgess telling her that he suffers from ‘74’ basically where women were able to run patrol and he still has a hard time accepting it (at least according to Platt).

chicago-pd-4_10_1

For the second show, it starts off with Lindsey meeting her father, Jimmy. It’s been 10 years since he got out. He got married and had a family and now he wants to make amends with Lindsey. Which is not something that she is going to be all for.

There is a new face on the squad as Kenny Rixton (Nick Wechsler, TV’s Revenge) as he takes Ruzek’s spot. WHAT RUZEK IS GONE!?? Does that mean he didn’t want to work close courters with Burgess or maybe a coincidence? Which ever way you want to look at it, it’s probably a temporary job for Rixton as I’m sure Ruzek will be back at some point. For Burgess, does that mean she has to work even harder as she now basically has to compete against him for the loyalty of the group.

The case is a big one for the case as the new victim, Grace, that was raped and shot dead is not the first one that has been found in the neighborhood. There was another one only a few weeks earlier. Things escalate when they learn that Grace may have been selling her body to help provide for her sisters. The leads bring us to Ricky Barnes who has a history of violence.

chicago-pd-4_10_2

Burgess, still trying to make a name for herself, finds a lead with one of the woman at the scene of the crime and runs with it with Atwater. Come to find out that there are 10 other girls that were killed in the same way and no one’s made the connection. Until now.

Working the case not only do they find the person that is responsible for the murders, but they find that it’s not someone they expected. It happens to be Ricky’s father.

In the next episode, the unit finds that there might be some cops doing dirty tactics in order to get arrests.

‘Chicago PD’ 4×5 and 4×6 recap – the unit take down a drug lord and try to survive someone trying to take them out

chicago-pd-4_7

In the last episode, Burgess and her new partner, Sorensen, find a dead body in the basement of a baseball player whose father is friends with Olinsky. How far will he go to protect his friend? Will he pull a Voight and screw over justice in order to help him? Olinsky did something that he didn’t want to do and he turned his friend over to the police. Sorensen shows that he is going to be a challenge for Burgess and I can’t wait to see where we go from here.

This week, ‘300,000 Likes’ and ‘A Shot Heard Round the World’, is a 2-hour show that is going to leave you gasping at the finale. It’s the fall finale so you know something big is going to happen. In the trailer last week, it looked like one of the CPD gets shot and fans were trying to guess what was going to happen. Officially, the show is about the CPD trying to find a person who is picking off the police one by one. Dawson is having problems with his ex-wife and is offered a new opportunity.

A few weeks ago, news was released that Dawson was going to be leaving the show to start up a new spin-off of the Chicago series. With his spot now vacant, it looks like Burgess is likely to return to the unit. Does that mean we won’t have that two patrol officers that we follow? And what happens with Platt! We all love her and need to see her on a regular basis.

The show starts off with the death of Tariq and the number one suspect a rich white boy, Oliver, who they believe killed him because Tariq was informing about him to the police. Oliver is a drug dealer who didn’t like the fact that he was about to go down. With Tariq out of the picture, that means Oliver can be on the streets again and working on taking out his next target.

First up. Let’s try and find the person responsible for killing Tariq. Things are pointing to his friend, Amir, but the timeline doesn’t work. Which means that Oliver went to other means to get to Tariq. Who is the rat? Who is the one that revealed where Tariq was?

Oliver is obviously guilty of killing Tariq. Let’s call a spade a spade. If not, can we just arrest for being arrogant? Lindsey sure knows how to get under his skin (and how to ruin his clothes and date).

Oliver’s sister, Sloan, is the one that is able to finally take him down as she is the one that reveals how they were able to take down Oliver and his run. Turns out it was Olinsky’s old friend that was able to find Tariq for the family. It’s been a hard time for Olinksky and his friends as that’s two episodes in a row where they do something stupid and get arrested.

Burgess finds herself at a crossroad in this episode(s). She hears that Dawson is going to be leaving and she knows that this is her chance to move up to the Intelligence unit. But that gets challenged when her partner does something that he’s not supposed to do. It turns out to bite them both in the butt as Burgess doesn’t tell on him but because she knew she gets in trouble with him. This could hurt her chances of moving up.

The second episode is not as laid back as the first one. It’s jammed pack with action and doesn’t let go until the end. The show starts off with a bang (on two different levels). Halstead is trying to have breakfast with Bunny, which of course is fun on its own, but has a twist as apparently there is something that she needs to tell Lindsey. This can’t be a good sign. That’s gets interrupted as a cop gets shot and the two of them shoot (pun intended) into action.

Of course, with the world that we live in now, there is a whole mess of groups out there that have a vendetta against the police so that makes the suspect pool quite deep. They start with the ones that are bragging about it, but it doesn’t lead them anywhere. It’s not until after the second cop gets killed that they have a lead and are able to bring him in. But considering we are 30 min into the show, it’s not going to be him.

Let us continue.

It brings us to the suspect of being a cop’s son, Carl. His dad died on duty and he tried to be a cop too but he failed due to mental issues. Now the question will be can they get to him before he kills any more cops or before he hurts himself. Things escalate fast at the house as it’s surrounded with explosives and he’s got the current owners of his childhood home are held hostage. Unable to talk him down, they have to make the tough call and kill Carl.

We say good bye to Antonio Dawson as he leaves the show to start up a new show in Chicago Justice, thus completing the Chicago Triangle. We have fire, police, and now the law. It really was just a matter of time. But that is not at all. It wouldn’t be a fall finale without there being a cliffhanger. It looks like Lindsey’s father is back in town and wants to see her. Dun…dun….dun!!! We will see what happened there and how it will effect Lindsey in the long run.

‘Chicago PD’ 4×4 recap – Olinsky goes to great lengths to help his friend

chicago-pd-4_6_1

In the last episode, the unit investigate a bag of drugs and a dead body that wash ashore in Chicago. Obviously where there are drugs, there is a drug lord. Voight thinks that he might be able to take down a big name until he throws his nephew under the bus to protect his name. In personal news, Halstead finally let’s go of the fight with Mouse and helps him re-enlist. Tay is returning back to her old precinct as Platt loses the battle. Which means that Burgess is going to be getting a new partner. The fourth in four seasons.

This week, Olinsky’s friend is in the hot seat in the show titled ‘Some Friend’. Burgess and her new partner, Sorensen, find a dead body in the basement of a baseball player whose father is friends with Olinsky. How far will he go to protect his friend? Will he pull a Voight and screw over justice in order to help him?

Right out of the gate, Olinsky is having problems keeping his personal feelings out of it. And of course he uses Voight’s past to help push his own agenda. His history with Jake, Billy Burke (Twilight series) goes deep and he’s going to stop at nothing to prove his friend’s innocence.

Jake was friends with the victim and tried to help her get away from her pimp. When the boss lady comes in, she kicks Olinsky off the case which means he’s gonna take matters in his own hands.

chicago-pd-4_6_2

When they find Jake’s personal items, they find video files on his laptop that are of him talking to the girls trying to help them. It helps lead them to her pimp, Saint. But he’s not the killer. No turns out it was Jake. He found her stealing from him and he snapped.

Burgess’s new partner is one of those people who try to hard. He doesn’t mind that Burgess takes the lead and he loves to suck up to Platt. Hopefully she can keep personal feelings out of this one. Maybe date someone who is not a cop.

Their first case (that we see of them together) has them hunting down a sandwich thief. This is mainly because Platt wanted lunch. But they find that the woman responsible was a cop.

In non case news, but very important, someone sends Lindsey flowers and Halstead is not at all happy about it. Whoever sent it, it’s gonna cause a wrinkle in Halstead’s plan, unless of course he’s playing her. Wouldn’t put that past him. But it gets weirder when she gets random call from a number from Kansas. Could it be possible that it was her father?

Next week, we get the Fall finale and a 2-hour special as someone is targeting the CPD and they try and find the person responsible before it’s too late

‘Chicago PD’ 4×3 recap – The unit come together to try and find the man who attacked one of their own

chicago-pd-4_3_2

In the last episode, the unit tackled a case that circled around the racial tension that is going on in the United States today. A woman goes missing in the ghetto and it’s because her boyfriend was trying to buy drugs. The man who took her wanted to make a point and I think it’s obvious that the point got made.

This week’s episode, titled ‘Made a Wrong Turn’, a white woman is kidnapped and held hostage in a black ghetto and the unit has to try and figure out a way of getting her out without citing a war. The show has done these kinds of shows before where they talk about racial tension, but considering what is going on in the world today, it’s a topic that is going to be covered again because people don’t seem to get how deep it goes.
In this week’s episode, titled ‘All Cylinders Firing’, the unit comes together to try and find the man who assaulted one of their own, Platt. It’s obvious that we know who the man is behind the attack. It’s the jerk, Focal, who got mad at her for grabbing Tay from him. He doesn’t like that someone went above his head because he was trying to teach her a lesson. How dare she say no to him, I mean really it makes sense.

If you know Voight, and you do if you’ve seen the last three seasons, you know you don’t mess with one of his own. He’s going to find the man that attacked her and Focal and knock them down a whole lot of notches and introduced them to the corner of Pay and Back.

Ruzek, Atwater, and Burgess team up to try and follow Platt’s timeline while Olinksy and Dawson canvass the area. Olinsky finds a camera in the nearby utility pole and wonders if that was how they found Platt. When they go to see her father, they find him shot to death after being tortured to try and get Platt’s whereabouts.

chicago-pd-4_3_1

While I think its Focal, it looks like the unit is looking at her father’s girlfriends, Natalie’s ex-boyfriend, Leonard. He has a laundry list of charges against him. It seems like a bit of a stretch but stranger things could happen. With them under arrest they begin questioning them. Looks like, Platt was right not to trust Natalie because her and Leonard were trying to con her father but they weren’t the ones responsible for hurting her and her father.

They find the getaway car and try and find the man who owns it, Wade. Turns out that Platt ran across him during a drug bust. Platt decides to take matters into her own hands as she runs away from the hospital to try and find the man who did this to her. While she pretended like she didn’t have any intel for them, we all know that she did. She just wanted to handle it herself. It will be a race to who can get to him first….or at least before she can kill him.

With 20 years of friendship, Voight finds Platt and tries to talk her down. They have an understanding and a strong bond that helps them understand one another.

With the fact that this time Platt wasn’t targeted for taking Tay, that means Focal is still out there wanting to get his revenge. What is he going to do? How is he going to get back at them? When will he try and get his revenge?

In the next episode, there is someone going around killing a people and no one wants to help the police try and stop them.

‘Chicago PD’ 4×2 recap – the unit try and find a missing woman in the middle of a race war

chicago-pd-4_2_3

In the season 4 opener, the season opens up with the unit trying to find out what happened to a young man who was working with narcotics to take down a drug dealer. Voight finds himself in trouble with IAB as they investigate the death of the man that killed Justin. We learn that with Lindsey’s help, he was able to clear his name. If you haven’t heard the news yet, it could be considered a spoiler so skip down if you don’t want to read the next paragraph.

Jon Seda, who plays Antonio Dawson, has chosen to take a role on a new show called Chicago Justice. It’s going to be another spin-off series for the city of Chicago. He is going to be a private investigator for the DA. This is bad news for Chicago PD because we will miss him but this will make for some good crossover episodes. The show is not going to be aired until mid-season which means that it’s going to be an epic mid-season finale as we say good-bye to Antonio.

The show opens with Burgess and Tay working. They stumble on a few young guys stripping an abandoned car. It seems like nothing until they find a man, Nathan, bludgeoned on a nearby house with his wife Sarah missing. It’s going to be a hard case for the unit to solve because there are not going to be able to find people who want to talk.

When the unit finally find a lead, a man named Hudson, they figure out how Sarah and Nathan got to be in the neighborhood they were found. They were trying to buy heroin. Hudson claims that he never saw Sarah. Turns out that Nathan left her to go buy his drugs and that’s when Sarah got taken. With the help of Mouse, they are able to find her Fitbit, but all they find is a crime scene where Sarah was raped.

chicago-pd-4_2_2

The unit are often times at war with the reporters, but sometimes reporters don’t know when to quit. In this case, they actually taped Sarah being kidnapped and instead of helping the police, they keep the video for themselves. It’s those types of people that give reporters a bad name. All trying to one up the other while a woman’s life hangs in the balance.

With the tape, they are able to find the man that kidnapped Sarah and where he is now keeping her. He is on the edge and trigger happy and with some quick thinking from Voight, they are able to save Sarah from being killed.

With Platt going above Tay’s commander’s, Focal’s, head, he is none too pleased with the fact that she did that. Platt knows that his ego and his pride is what brought him to the precinct because how dare Tay actually make a name for herself. Really, I mean, Tay shouldn’t have said no. What is wrong with her really? (sarcasm here if you didn’t recognize it).

As a side note, Mouse tells Halstead that he’s thinking about going back to the Rangers. Halstead of course is not at all happy because of what they went through to get over what happened after he left the Rangers. Halstead doesn’t want him to go, but you can see that there is something deeper going on with Mouse. He seems lost. Can the Rangers really help him?

In the next episode, Platt’s life is in endangered as she is the victim of a random attack, or is it random?
