In the second book of the series we have Creighton trying to understand Holly and why she is so important to him. We see a whole new side of him that I don’t think he’s even seen before. He lets her in, but like him, we get frustrated when Holly can’t see it. Does he do stupid things? Of course. Does he make mistakes. Yes, but you can tell that he loves her and only wants what’s best for it. It’s the curse (and the joy) of reading books in dual point of view because you know the others intentions while the other one doesn’t.
Holly is really starting to make a name for herself in the music business. But she still has to try and balance her dreams with this pull that Creighton has over her. I like that she is really starting to stand up for herself and really demand what she deserves, but there are still moments when she lets insecurity take over.
The romance part of course is scorching, as you can only expect from someone like Creighton. Except this book steps it up another notch. It feels as if Creighton is not only trying to prove to Holly that she is more, but also to himself. And I for one am all on board with that. He gives Christian Grey a run for his money and makes me want to be looking for a hot billionaire myself.
Meghan March has been known to wear camo face paint and tromp around in woods wearing mud-covered boots, all while sporting a perfect manicure. She’s also impulsive, easily entertained, and absolutely unapologetic about the fact that she loves to read and write smut. Her past lives include slinging auto parts, selling lingerie, making custom jewelry, and practicing corporate law. Writing books about dirty talking alpha males and the strong, sassy women who bring them to their knees is by far the most fabulous job she’s ever had.
