About White Knight:

New York Times bestselling author Meghan March continues the story of untold truths and one man’s redemption in the Dirty Mafia Duet.

I never expected to be anyone’s white knight. That’s not a role I’ve ever played.

But when the Casso crime family shifts into uncharted territory, they’re looking for a new hero, and they’re looking for me—Cannon Freeman, the black sheep.

But my time in disgrace is at an end.

It’s my turn to rise up and save the people who matter most to me.

Even if my family has never given a damn about me, I will not let them fall.

More than anything, I will not let her fall.

One thing I know is true—in my life, nothing is ever what it seems.

Review

I had high expectations for this story considering how the last book ended. Memphis is trying not to stay alive as she tries to find out what happened to her father. Cannon is harboring Memphis’s secret while also struggling with the demands of his family.

There was some ups and downs for my feelings in the story. I had to power through some parts because I was hoping that it would be worth it in the end. It was an interesting enough story where it kept me interested, just not one of those stories that I couldn’t put down.

One highlight i can take from the story is the fact that Cannon and Creighton finally get their reunion. It’s no surprise that Karas would make Cannon work for it, considering that he considered Cannon as a brother even before knowing the truth and hates that he was in the not know. As we all known, Karas needs to be in the know.

I would have liked to have seen more of a umph at the end. Once we get to the big reveal, it felt rushed, as if we were just trying to end the story, rather then rounding it out a bit. I would have liked to have seen more of a struggle and more drama I suppose. Especially since there was this big build up that there was going to be some big explosive moment.

While I did enjoy the book, its not one of my favorites. It doesn’t in any way change how I feel about March’s work. I just think that for the alpha males, there are better ones in the books that she has written that I like better. Cannon is ok, but he was just a little too over the top for me.

Rating: C+
