‘Conviction’ 1×1 – The series opens up to the unit working a case about an All-American football player

In this hotly anticipated show, we follow a unit that was set up to try and investigate cases of potential wrongly convicted people. The show stars Marvel universe star Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter) as she leads the group, though not by desire. She gets blackmailed into leading the department which means she is none too happy about it and likely will make sure that it’s known. The show also stars Shawn Ashmore, fresh off appearing in X-men and The Following, who plays her number two Sam Spencer. The DA is played by Eddie Cahill who is known for his role on Friends and in the movie Miracle. With these stars it’s definitely going to draw in an audience, I for one was sold with Hayley Atwell and Shawn Ashmore. The concept is interesting enough and has all the makings of a lot of twists and surprising moments.

The season opener, shows Hayes being forced into starting the unit while trying her first case involves the unit looking into a man, named Odell Dwyer, who was accused of killing his girlfriend. He was an American boy and the fact that he is black, Hayes thinks that she can use that to their advantage to prove that he was wrongly convicted.

Right out of the gate, Hayes proves that she isn’t here to make friends and that she is only here to do her job. Maxine doesn’t trust Hayes as far as she can throw her so she is going to try and figure out why she’s here. Conner (Cahill) knows that Hayes has a lot going on and that she is not going to be all in the game. He asks Sam to keep an eye on her to make sure that she is doing her job and keeping up her side of the arrangement.

Each member of the unit try and find an angle to work to try and get him out. On the surface, it looks like the case was open and shut, but of course nothing is as it seems in cases like this. In order to clear out Odell’s name, they need to find the smoking gun. Literally. The only thing that can save him is to try and find the murder weapon. How they convicted without that is a mystery. Probably believe he tossed it.

While Hayes thinks that Odell did it, and the evidence is supporting that, Frankie (Manny Montana, Graceland) thinks that he is innocent and thinks that they are missing something. Him and Tess (Emily Kinney, Arrow) want to find the gun before they go balls to the walls and go full court press on proving he’s guilty.

There are deep problems with Hayes and her parents. She’s lived in a dark shadow of her family’s political life. Her father was a favorite president in the public eye. Her mom threatens her with jail time if she doesn’t clean up her act and while she wants to do best by her family, she knows deep down she will never have her mother’s approval.

With this new found desire to do right by Odell, Hayes takes over the case and becomes super lawyer as she works with Francine to try and talk to the cop that arrested him. To make matters worse, instead of helping them, he lights his notes on fire. This is going to be a common thing with these cases as lawyers, judges, and cops are not going to like that they are looking at their old cases.

Obviously, Hayes steps up to the plate and is able to find them a suspect in a family friend, Hector. Turns out that he had a mean streak and didn’t like the way that Anna spoke to him so he killed her with his girlfriend turning over his gun. The win boasts Hayes’s confidence and now she is going to stop and nothing to get justice for those who were convicted of crimes they didn’t commit.

In true How to Get Away with Murder fashion, the show revealed a whole lot of information in 30 seconds. Starting off with Frankie and the fact that he may or may not have a lover still in jail. Tess has a personal connection to this unit as it looks like she was directly involved with a case that someone got off because of DNA clearing their name after they got convicted. Francine gets her cop friend to retire after showing him proof that he destroyed evidence.

In this season, the unit will continue to try and get wrongly convicted people free or prove that they were in fact guilty. There is going to be a lot of backstabbing and it looks like it may and probably will come from Sam who is still working under Conner’s wing.

‘Agents of SHIELD’ 3×18 recap – The Agents try to figure out how to save Daisy from Ward

MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. - "The Singularity" - The S.H.I.E.L.D. team is left reeling and decimated as Hive continues to sway Inhumans to his side. But there is a sliver of hope as Agents Fitz and Simmons follow a lead that may be able to stop the maniacal Inhuman once and for all, on "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," TUESDAY, APRIL 26 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EDT) on the ABC Television Network. (ABC/Eric McCandless) CHLOE BENNET, BRETT DALTON

In this week’s episode, titled ‘Singularity’, Daisy reunites with Ward while the rest of the Agents try and figure out a way to bring her back before she kills one of them.  Daisy and Ward (or Hive as he is now known as) start working on his master plan to change the world and it starts with Lincoln’s old friend James. But they aren’t interested in him, but more of the toys that he has.

While they are busy, the Agents try to find Daisy before she falls to deep for Hive while also trying to figure out a way to save her when they do find her. Lincoln is starting to get restless as they try and find her and it’s only going to get worse the more time passes. Both sides of the investigation have to revisit and revise their plans when they both get giant speed bumps that slow them down. Then there is that GIANT speedbump that almost stalls them as Hive and Daisy arrive to where Fitz and Simmons are. They have a warning that is obviously going to be ignored.

‘Agents of SHIELD’ 3×17 recap – Daisy and Lincoln unite Inhumans to try and save the agents

shield 3_17

In this week’s episode, titled ‘The Team’, Daisy and Lincoln reunite the Inhumans to try and save SHIELD but find that one of them might not be ready. It’s a big too do at the beginning of the show as they rescue the agents, but the fact that Ward just lets them go without too much of a fight raises a very big red flag. Apparently he has ‘one on the inside’. Now the question will be who the heck is that one?

It becomes a battle to figure out who is the one that is infected as the Inhumans fight amongst each other to try and figure it out. It is likely watching a civil war amongst them because they want to figure it out on their own before anyone else gets hurt. And when it’s revealed that it was Lincoln….just kidding. It was Daisy. She was turned during the raid by Ward and she returned to get the Inhuman finder that Lincoln found a few episodes ago. Before leaving to go back to Hive, she tries to take Lincoln with her, but he won’t go. With her gone, he’s going to have a hard time trying to convince the other agents that it was her that was turned not him.

‘Agents of SHIELD’ 3×16 recap – Ward reveals his true self while SHIELD tries to figure it out

MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. - “Paradise Lost” - S.H.I.E.L.D. hunts for information on their dangerous new enemy, and a shameful secret from Malick’s past is exposed, threatening to destroy his Hydra legacy, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, APRIL 12 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EDT) on the ABC Television Network. (ABC/Justin Lubin) BETHANY JOY LENZ, POWERS BOOTHE

In this week’s episode, titled ‘Paradise Lost’, the unit regroup and try and figure out a way to take down Ward, yet again. It’s becoming an every season occurrence where SHIELD has to figure out some kind of way to take Ward down. Obviously he is the show’s villain but it’s a wonder how many times he can get killed before he’s officially done. Fitz and Simmons are the source for information, but there is nothing that they can give out that will help. Daisy and Lincoln try a different tactic by trying to find a device that can help them find Inhumans. It’s an episode of bad decisions, as Coulson’s decision to take Giyera backfires and he ends up taking over the plane.

While Ward uncovers who he is, we also get to see who Malick is. We find out how he started out in Hydra and how him and his brother were recruited by Whitehall. It turns out that while he was growing up, him and his brother were supposed to band together and change Hydra, but instead, Malick screwed his brother over so that he could move up in Hydra. It comes back to bite him in the end as he loses his daughter.

New ‘Captain America Civil War’ footage has the new Avengers fighting crime

captain america

The MTV Movie Awards, with the help of Chris Evans (Captain America himself) premiered some new footage from the upcoming movie Captain America Civil War. The footage looked like it was the opening scene but certainly got every hyped up for what’s to come. The new Avengers look more in tune with one another, especially since they embrace Cap as their leader. This is good for him because he likes to lead and he doesn’t have someone like Tony Stark to question every decision he makes.

It’s going to be an interesting movie but it will be the best movie of the year, hands down and no contest. Batman V. Superman may have the title for biggest movie of the year right now, but come May 5th when this movie comes out, it will no longer be true.

‘Agents of SHIELD’ 3×15 recap – The unit are in for a shock as Ward returns with vengeance

shield 3_15

In this week’s episode, titled ‘Spacetime’, Daisy gets a glimpse into the future and doesn’t spell good news as Ward begins his mission to take down SHIELD. While Malec won’t want to admit it, he’s scared of Ward and what he is capable. Considering how he’s been since he came back, it’s understandable. He’s even more scarier than he was before he died. He has his own plan and we are starting to unravel what that plan is. It starts with buying a company with a lot of money and a lot of power.

Daisy is able to see what is going to happen in the future, but the question will be if she and the rest of the unit can stop it from happening. Daisy has strict orders to stay away from the mission but her hero-complex is going to make that rather hard. It doesn’t get easier when Lincoln helps feed her addiction by getting Coulson off her back. She tries to get May ready but it might not be that easy.

The mission of course has it’s complciations as Daisy didn’t see everything. Ward being there threw a curveball in their plans and the fact that Malick almost killed her didn’t help. Charles sacrificed himself to save her with hopes that she would keep his daughter safe. It ends with Daisy seeing an agent dying in a spaceship. Clue is that they were wearing a gold cross.

Complications rise for May when she finds out that she is losing her husband to Lash, which puts Daisy back in the driver’s seat for the mission. Coulson knows something is going to happen and that might be because he knows how Daisy can be when it comes to saving people. But May is going to get her chance to say good bye to her husband.

‘Agents of SHIELD’ 3×14 recap – Daisy uses unorthodox ways to take down The Watchdogs

MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. - “Watchdogs” - When a radical group called The Watchdogs emerges with plans to eliminate the Inhumans, Agent Mack and his brother become caught in the crossfire. Meanwhile, Simmons discovers a powerful chemical compound that could alter the future for Inhumans, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, MARCH 29 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EDT) on the ABC Television Network. (ABC/Kelsey McNeal) D. ELLIOT WOODS, JUSTIN MORCK

In this week’s episode, titled ‘Watchdogs’, there is a group formed to try and take out Inhumans and Daisy comes up with an unorthodox way of finding out why. The Watchdogs are formed by former agent Felix Blake. It looks like he’s trying to get revenge on Shield and ATCU.

Mack finds himself in trouble as his brother is drowning in problems and wanting to join in The Watchdogs. He sees that his decisions have made life harder for his brother and he feels responsible for what he does.

Daisy makes some rough decision (and drags Fitz with her) and she uses intimidation to try and get one of the members to talk. She doesn’t get to see the consequences to her actions until Fitz gets one of the Nitromene bombs attached to his skin. It only gets worse, because they find out that there is another target that they are going after, Ruben. They don’t know who they are messing with because Mack does not go down easy. He takes down the group and saves his brother.
