‘Max’ by Sawyer Bennett has Max becoming Cinderella’s Prince Charming

Format: e-book, paperback
Format read: e-book
Series: book 6 of Cold Fury series
Rating: 18+ sexual content, language
Genre: Contempory Romance
Goodreads page: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/29636247-max?ac=1&from_search=true

Max Fournier is the goalie for the Cold Fury series and he is trying to bounce back from a big injury. All eyes are on him, but his eyes are on the cashier at a local gas station who has more baggage then an airplane. Julianne is responsible for three young kids and doesn’t have time for a social life, but all of that gets challenged when Max enters her life.

Max is one of those good guys that is like seeing a unicorn. They do exist in the world but they are few and far in between. He knows that Julianne has a lot of things going on but that doesn’t stop him from trying to show her that she can have both a family life and love. Julianne only wants what’s best for the kids.

I loved the back and forth between Max and Julianne and his swoon worthy factor goes up with each conversation that they have with one another. Max knows that the stakes are high for his job but it doesn’t stop him from proving to Julianne that she deserves happiness for herself. This is a struggle that many mothers (I think) deal with on a regular basis. It’s finding that balance of being unselfish with the kids and selfish with your own happiness. I love that Julianne lets Max in and lets him sweep her off her feet and love her.

The romance oh boy is that hot. Max doesn’t hold back when it comes to Julianne and when she finally is able to let love in, she finds that she has been denying herself. While it’s not as hot as some of the other books in the series, what I love the most is that it’s sweet. Max is very sweet with Julianne and he often times reminded me of a gentle giant.

This series is a fun romantic series and this book only adds to how amazing that it is. I love reading about the men on this series. They are hot, swoon worthy, and charming. They sweep their women off their feet and show them that there are more to life then they know. I can’t wait to see where Bennett takes us next.

Book of the week- ‘Max’ by Sawyer Bennett

The ice is a cold mistress. As the league’s most eligible goalie, Max Fournier has access to his fair share of willing puck bunnies, but right now he’s more interested in bringing home another championship than a one-night stand. A romantic at heart, Max believes in love; he’s just not great at relationships. So when he finally meets a nice girl who’s not blinded by his celebrity, he’s feeling the heat—and the pressure to save her from herself.

Between working two jobs and raising her sister’s kids, Julianne Bradley doesn’t have time for sports—or men. All she knows about Max is that he’s the sexiest customer to ever grace her gas-station counter. And he sees past her tired eyes and makes Jules yearn for things she can’t have: a glamorous fling, a passionate lover, and the time to enjoy both. Max makes her feel like Cinderella, even though Jules has enough baggage to crush a glass slipper. Luckily, he’s no prince—only a fierce competitor determined to win her heart.

#5-Jaded Hearts by Harper Sloan
Out: 12/13

Signing with Brighthouse Records was supposed to be everything we ever wanted—our better life. Our chance at everything we never had but always wanted. All our dreams would finally come true and we were on top of the world. It was our chance at the happiness we never had in life.

Our every desire was at our fingertips and the power of that feeling was all consuming. But then it took every dream we thought would come true and it slapped us in the face with the cold hard reality.

Dreams were just that…something that floated on the cusp of untouchable, taunting you with every graze of your fingertips before slipping even further away.

Happiness…that feeling is a joke.

In the end it became painfully obvious that each of us would always have each other, but we would forever be alone.

#1- Until Ashlyn by Aurora Rose Reynolds
Out: 12/27

Dillon Keck knew Ashlyn Mayson was drunk when she suggested they get married. He knew he should have taken her back to their hotel room and put her to bed. Instead, he did what he had been craving to do since the moment they met.

Claim her as his.

Waking up married in Vegas isn’t something Ashlyn Mayson ever thought would happen to her. Having Dillon, her boss, a man she thinks is a dick, insist they stay married is absurd, but every time he touches her, she gets lost in him and wonders if maybe they are meant to be together.

But someone isn’t happy for Dillon and Ashlyn and their new found romance, and they’re willing to do anything to keep them apart. Even commit murder.

‘Ted 2’ can’t match ‘Jurassic World’ in opening weekend

jp9

There was two movies that were set to come out this week with the loveable teddy bear, Ted 2, trying to grab the top spot for the box office, but was unable to take down either Jurassic World or Inside Out.

Jurassic World makes it three straight weeks at the top of the box office bringing in an estimated $54.2 million. The movie now has over $500 million domestically and now holds the record for the fastest movie to get to that mark getting there in 17 days compared to The Avengers (2012) which got there in 23 days. The movie has some ways to go to become the highest grossing film of all time, but at this rate, it’s possible.

Inside Out just misses beating out Jurassic World for the second straight week with it’s estimated $52.1 million. The movie continues to do well, as it should cross over the $200 million mark by the end of next week. At this rate, it should give Toy Story 3 a run for the top Pixar movie, but with Minions set to come out in a few weeks, it might effect it’s chances.

ted 2

The premiere of Ted 2 had high expectations, but was unable to meet them with it’s estimated $33 million opening. The first movie was a surprise hit that opened at $54 million, but this movie not only had a lower opening, but also has lower ratings on Rotten Tomatoes.

The other new movie this week was Max which premiered with an estimated $12.2 million. Rounding out the top five is Spy with an estimated $7.8 million.

For the rest of the box office, you can go here.

There are two big movies set to come out this week with Terminator: Genysis and Magic Mike XXL. These two movies are sure to knock Jurassic World for the top spot next week, as the will battle for the top spot. Magic Mike might have the advantage because of the type of movie that it is.
